Adding New Assets

For support navigating to the Manage Assets page see Managing Assets.

On the Manage Assets page ensure you are on the Assets tab (the page will default to this tab), where you can find the ‘Add’ (plus) button on the left sidebar.

You may not have all tabs along the top of Manage Assets depending on the permissions given to your user.

This will open a blank asset in the editor with related fields. Click on a field to edit and add the details about the new asset.

Scroll down the page to find more fields. It is always best to fill out as much data you have to produce better information about the asset.

Autofilling asset fields

When creating a new asset you can use the magic wand button to check if the DVLA holds data on the asset.

The ‘Fleet No’ column will need to be a registration number.

If the DVLA has information about that asset, some of the fields will be automatically populated and will turn green to indicate an auto-fill change has been made.

You can click the ‘Undo’ 🔄 button on the tool bar to undo these changes.

When all required fields have been filled out, the save button will become active and you will be able to save the asset.

If the save button is greyed out, check you have filled in the required fields (marked with * ). Empty required fields will turn red.

You will see the created asset in the asset list on the left sidebar.

(question) Troubleshooting

"I can't press the save button"

If the save button is greyed out double-check the information you have entered. If any of the fields marked with * are empty or have turned red this is an indication some required information has been missed.

If after these steps you are still unsuccessful you should Contact Axscend Support for more assistance.

"Whilst saving I had an 'Error Saving Asset' error"

There are two main reasons you may have this error whilst saving a new asset.

Firstly, you may have an existing asset in your company with the same Fleet No as the ‘new asset’ you are trying to save. This asset might belong to a group in your company which you are not mapped to, and as a result, cannot view assets belonging to the group but it exists in the background.

Another reason for this might be the asset already exists but is decommissioned. In this case, you could re-commission the asset instead of re-adding it as a new asset.

Check with your line manager before re-commissioning decommissioned assets.
